Some things are just too cool for words. These guys must have had a ton of time on their hands, and an NES with a reference copy of the theme!
You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
Still not quite as cool as the guys and gals from “Redefined” though…
You need to [...]

No More Ads!
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Until such time as I can find a viable (read: worthwhile) ad service to help offset the costs of the blog, I will no longer be subjecting readers to ads on the blog.
After nearly 9 months of Google Adsense, I’ve managed $3.56. Since Google requires $100 in your account before they will pay out, I’m [...]

Messaging and “GTD-ish” service Jott has just launched new local numbers in many major cities in Canada. The service has gone from one local number in Toronto, to twenty nation-wide.
Here is an excerpt from the email sent to Canadian Jott users today:
In an effort to protect your privacy, most Canadian mobile providers have blocked [...]

Reminder: Take-Down your MySpace Account Tomorrow!
January 29th, 2008 · 2 Comments
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the official “Delete your MySpace Account Day”. If you have a MySpace account, and you don’t use it, cut down your Bacn and join in the movement.
I’ve been thinking about deleting my Myspace account almost since the day I got it but always opted out of doing so [...]

January 30th: International Delete Your MySpace Account Day
January 23rd, 2008 · 3 Comments
I’ve just been directed to a post over on Simon Owens’ site Bloggasm that January 30th is to be International “Delete Your MySpace Account Day“.
As a MySpace member who only ever logs in to check on someone else’s profile about once a year, it just isn’t worth getting all the Bacn from MySpace. I [...]

On Friday executives at Warner Brothers announced that they would be committing to support the Blu-Ray format for HD movies and would be ceasing production of movies in the HD-DVD format at the end of May, 2008.
Though the battle is far from over with technology giants like Intel and Microsoft backing the Toshiba-led HD-DVD format. [...]

Hidden Details in OS X Leopard
November 6th, 2007 · No Comments
I found an interesting bit of hidden text in OS X. The icon for “TextEdit” actually contains legible text if you can enlarge it enough to read.
This is in addition to the other little “hidden gem”… Those cute kids in Cupertino thought it would be cute to paint every non-mac computer with the Blue Sceen [...]

Leopard has Landed
October 27th, 2007 · No Comments
Well, I survived the upgrade. No major challenges. In fact the hardest thing was finding a CD I was looking for… but more to come on that.
So far I’m pretty impressed with the performance boost that I’ve gotten from the new OS. I’ll be doing a longer post on my Leopard experience in the next [...]

Dreamhost PS - “Probably Stable”
October 20th, 2007 · No Comments
About 6 weeks ago, I made some changes to my hosting service. I’ve been hosted with Dreamhost for over two years now, and for the most part it’s been pretty good value for money.
So recently I switched hosting packages to Dreamhost PS, a virtual private server configuration offered by DH. And ever since acquiring [...]

NinjaWords - Quick definitions
August 14th, 2007 · No Comments
Zutter Bug tipped me off today to one of the greatest additions to the Web 2.0 space… a new free dictionary service called Ninja Words. Launched in November 2006 by Phil Crosby, it’s an Ajax-based dictionary site which pulls all of it’s information from Wiktionary and the Princeton WordNet.
It is (for the moment [...]
