Hey McGeough! Wake up!

October 29th, 2007 · No Comments

OK, so apparently I can’t let this go. I did a search for “Mick McGeough” on Google, and one of the first results that comes up is a petition to have McGeough fired. Made me smirk.
Definitely one of the most inconsistent referees in the league, and with over 1000 games under his belt, [...]

‘nucks fall 3-2 to the wings

October 28th, 2007 · No Comments

The third period was largely uneventful, or at least it seems that way now that I’m sitting on the SkyTrain heading home. The only thing most Canucks’ fans are trying to figure out right now is whether NHL referee Mick McGeough needs bifocals or trifocals.
A controversial play with less than 30 seconds to [...]

‘nucks/wings — Second Period, still trailing…

October 28th, 2007 · No Comments

After a rather lethargic looking first 10 minutes the Canucks found some life and managed to notch the tying goal.
Unfortunately, the Wings had other ideas and like the first period managed to score in the last minute of the period.
Luongo looked… human on that third Detroit goal, but had already stood on his head for [...]

First period

October 28th, 2007 · No Comments

[[Added at 23:37 -- Apparently attachments mess up the auto-posting script....]]
The Canucks put up a decent effort in the first, but a couple of defensive miscues have us down 2-1.  Its great to be back at a game, I haven’t been to GM Place for a game in about 4 years… I couldn’t believe it [...]

Canucks/Wings Live Blog — waiting….

October 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Thank you so much to the security guard on the 100 level who sent a few dozen of us up to the 300 level to go inside. After having waited for 15 mins down below we found that the line was back about a block and a half!
Good to know the crack security team [...]

Canucks vs. Red Wings — Live Blog

October 28th, 2007 · No Comments

I’m heading out the door right now walking to the SkyTrain and on to GM Place! I think I’ve got all my live blog bits and pieces set up correct.
Really looking forward to the game. I’m hoping the boys can build on last game’s squeakerr to avenge the loss in the Motor City.
More [...]

That’s what you get for not paying attention

May 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

*sigh*
It’s golf season.
Well done boys for a good solid year.  Time to shore up that scoring and make another run in September.
Thanks to the Canucks on behalf of all your fans.  We’re proud of you.

Canucks go to Round 2!

April 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Roberto Luongo, Trevor Linden and the rest of the Canucks put in an outstanding 2nd and 3rd period to squeak out a 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars. This was really a 2-1 game as Pyatt and Smolinski potted a couple of empty net goals with about 90 seconds to go.
The Canucks finally found [...]

Want a Jersey? GoCanucks.ca

April 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Some crazy Canucks fans have put up a website to give away a Canucks’ Jersey for every Canucks’ win in the Playoffs.  The tradeoff?  A few product-centric emails from their sponsors.
Since all the emails should be coming from the guys that run the site (in this case a “friend of a friend”) I feel reasonably [...]

Canucks Clinch Playoff Berth

March 28th, 2007 · No Comments

The Canucks have clinched a berth for the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 3-0 win over the Avs (well a 1+2-0 win…).  Sami Salo opened the scoring with a shot from the point early in the third period during a Canucks’ 2-man advantage.  Roberto Luongo held the boys in it through a very busy [...]
