Researchers from IBM and Georgia Tech have come up with a method of running a standard Silicon-Germanium (SiGe) processor at over 500GHz. This amazing breakthrough was achieved by cooling the processor to temperatures around the absolute zero mark. The significance of this is that it may be possible to run SiGe processors at much higher speeds than originally thought. Will this spell a renewed beginning of the Megahertz wars?
Holy Gigahertz Batman!
