A couple of tools that have proven to be absolutely invaluable to me both at home and at work over the past couple of years have to do with ISO files.
The first is an ISO recording tool called the ISO Recorder PowerToy. This tool was written and is still maintained by Alex Feinman and is one of the slickest shell integrations I’ve seen for Windows XP/2003. It allows you to write any ISO file to a CD, and also allows you to create an ISO from any CD-ROM. Just like the website the tool is simple and to the point. A great tool!
The second is an unsupported tool written by a guy at Microsoft. It’s the MS Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel. It consists of a driver and UI that will let you mount any ISO file (CD or DVD) to a drive letter. Very convenient for anyone with an MSDN subscription as there’s no need to burn before you install a piece of software.
Both great tools, and an indispensable part of my geek-arsenal.
